We are in the province of Taranto, part of the ancient Terra d’Otranto which joined Brindisi and Lecce to the Ionian capital. The continuity of traditions and cultivation and agronomic practices can be found in the vineyards where, here too, Negroamaro is predominant.

The economic and cultural vitality of Lizzano, to which this PDO owes its name, and of the nearby Faggiano, is concentrated around wine and the wineries that can be visited, with an openness to new experiences while cultivating ancient traditions, such as the ritual of the Tavole di San Giuseppe, St. Joseph’s Table, specially laid and where a toast is never missing. The marina of Lizzano is well known for its crystal clear waters and the splendor of its sandy beaches.

The typologies envisaged by the production regulations are:

  • Lizzano PDO White, also Spumante Charmat Method  and  Sparkling
  • Lizzano PDO Red, also Nouveau and Sparkling
  • Lizzano PDO Rosé, also in the Nouveau, Spumante Charmat Method  and Sparkling
  • Lizzano PDO Negroamaro Red and Rosé
