Leverano is only 9 km from the crystal clear Ionian Sea and its wines are influenced by the beneficial sea breeze. Interesting for its architectural and marine treasures, Leverano PDO contains various grape varieties including the versatile Negroamaro. Leverano enjoys the privilege of having a PDO that has the name of a single municipality, reserved exclusively for this area where there are over two hundred hectares of vines registered that characterize it as a Città del vino, Wine City. But Leverano is also the city of flowers, for the many flourishing greenhouses. The Marina with its beautiful beaches is a popular tourist destination, as well as the wineries that can be visited and the vineyards open for racing competitions, as well as events related to flowers that flood the beautiful old town.
