Straddling Puglia and Basilicata, along the arc of the ravines that joins the two regions, there is a land stretching along the coast of the Ionian Sea that contains a variety of climatic micro-zones, and is home to typical products of excellence. From the kilometres of sandy beaches, the landscape then changes to the hills of the Murgia Tarantina, covered by woods interrupted by the deep canyons of the ravines. In 2005 the institution of the Terra delle Gravine Park accelerated the development of this area, where in 2008 the wine was consecrated by the recognition of Colline Joniche Tarantine PDO. All around the vineyards there are olive groves and citrus orchards, large pastures of dairy cattle of great value.
