We are in the land of wines already praised in antiquity by Pliny. “Brundisium” and its natural port Brindisi as a junction, connected to the Appian Way, have always represented the millenary routes of wine, to be shared with the crusaders who left from here for the Holy Land. In short, it is a PDO that seals a tradition for ‘merum’ , latin name for wine, that is among the oldest in Apulia.
The art of blending grape varieties already in the field, and later in the cellar, has among its protagonists the Negroamaro, which dominates the Salento and here combines admirably with the grapes of Susumaniello, for example, which in recent decades has been increasingly valued for its peculiarities.
The typologies envisaged by the Production Regulations are:
Brindisi PDO White is the expression of a balanced mix of international grapes, which in Apulia are best expressed by the power of the sun, as it requires a minimum of 80% Chardonnay or the autochthonous Malvasia Bianca alone or in blend.
The colour is pale straw yellow with greenish reflections, the aroma is characteristic and pleasantly fruity, the taste is fresh and fruity.

The Brindisi PDO White Spumante Charmat Method is appreciated for its fine and persistent foam. The colour is straw yellow, more or less intense, the smell is delicate, fruity, with notes of yeast, the taste is fresh, well balance, ranging from extra brut to extra dry.
Alcohol content: 11.50%.
Brindisi PDO Red and Reserve is produced with a minimum of 70% Negroamaro in a skilful blend with black Malvasia di Brindisi grapes. Susumaniello, Montepulciano and Sangiovese. When tasted, it has a more or less intense ruby red colour, sometimes with reflections tending towards brick red with ageing. The aroma is ethereal, characteristic and intense, the taste is full, velvety and well balanced.
When the Brindisi Red is aged at least two years, it can be labelled as “Reserve”.

Brindisi PDO Nouveau Red
It’s the fresh fruit of the harvest, for those who don’t want to wait and toast with a more or less intense red colour, a slightly vinous smell, rightly persistent and with the typical fruitiness of the carbonic maceration with which it is obtained, it has a velvety, well balanced and pleasant taste.

Brindisi PDO Rosé represents one of the most deep-rooted traditions in the Salento area of Brindisi, which is enclosed in the art of knowing how to create a delicate rosé wine, son of red grapes. The vines are the same of Brindisi PDO Red in which prevails a 70% of Negroamaro.
In the glass, the colour of Brindisi PDO Rosè is more or less intense, the aroma is slightly vinous, rightly persistent, fruity if young, the taste is well balanced.

Brindisi PDO Spumante Charmat Method Rosé has a froth is fine and persistent, the colour is more or less intense, the bouquet is delicate, fruity, with notes of yeast, the taste is fresh, well balanced and can range from extra brut to extra dry.

The Brindisi PDO Chardonnay requires a minimum of 90% of these international grapes, whose peculiar expression is not only linked to the soil and to the strong temperature range between day and night, but also to the closeness to the Adriatic Sea. In the glass, Brindisi PDO Chardonnay has a more or less intense straw-yellow colour, an intense and characteristic aroma, a savoury and characteristic taste, which tells of a strip of land squeezed between the two seas of the heel of Italy.

Brindisi PDO Chardonnay Spumante Charmat Method is a toast that offers a fine and persistent froth, a more or less intense straw yellow colour, a delicate, fruity aroma with pleasant notes of yeast, a fresh, well balanced, ranging from extra brut to extra dry.

Brindisi PDO Fiano focuses on an ancient grape variety from southern Italy that has been cultivated since the days of the Roman Empire. Fiano must be at least 90%. In the glass it has a more or less intense straw yellow colour, an intense, distinctive aroma and a zesty, dry, distinctive taste.

Brindisi PDO Fiano Spumante Charmat Method is the pleasure of dining or toasting with a wine that has a fine and persistent froth, a beautiful straw-yellow colour of varying intensity, a delicate, fruity aroma with pleasant notes of yeast, and a fresh, well balanced taste that ranges from extra brut to extra dry.

Brindisi PDO Malvasia Bianca takes us back in time and into the heart of the Mediterranean, to the charming Greek port town of Monemvasia, where the name of this grape variety may have come from. Its diffusion would have started from here, where the Venetians, starting from the year 1000, exported wines to Northern Europe. In Apulia this vine has always prospered and for the Brindisi PDO Malvasia Bianca this grape must be at least 90%. When tasted, the wine has an intense straw-yellow colour, a characteristic and intense aroma and a characteristic and well balanced taste.

“Brindisi” Sauvignon, minimum 90% Sauvignon;
Brindisi PDO Sauvignon represents another admirable example of how in Apulia, land par excellence of quality viticulture, an international vine can express itself very well. For the Brindisi PDO Sauvignon the production regulation provides for a minimum of 90% of these grapes. In the glass, the color is a more or less intense straw yellow, the aroma is characteristic and intense, and the taste is sapid and characteristic.

Brindisi PDO Sauvignon Spumante Charmat Method evokes pairings ranging from aperitifs to fried seafood, with its fine and persistent froth, its more or less intense straw yellow colour, its delicate bouquet, fruity and with notes of yeast, its fresh and well balanced taste, ranging from extra brut to extra dry.

The Brindisi PDO Negroamaro Red, also when Reserve, fascinates and gives back in the glass one of the noble expressions of this vine, firmly rooted in Salento. From the vine to the work of man, each PDO dedicated to it is a different interpretation.
For the Brindisi PDO Negroamaro Red there is a minimum of 85% of this grape variety. In the glass, the colour is a more or less intense ruby red with possible reflections tending towards brick red with ageing, the aroma is ethereal, characteristic, pleasant and intense, the taste is full and well balanced.
The Reserve requires at least two years of ageing.

The Brindisi PDO Negroamaro Rosé makes us continue on the footsteps of history, probably following the traces of the illegitimate sons of Sparta who colonized Apulia creating Magna Graecia.
This type of wine requires a minimum of 85% Negroamaro, from which we can appreciate, in the glass, a more or less intense pink color, a slightly vinous smell, rightly persistent, fruity if young, a well balanced taste.

Brindisi PDO Negroamaro Spumante Charmat Method Rosé has the liveliness of a fine and persistent froth, a more or less intense rosé colour, a delicate, fruity and fresh aroma with notes of yeast, a fresh, well balanced taste, ranging from extra brut to extra dry.

Brindisi PDO Susumaniello is dedicated to one of the Salento vines which, in the last decades, has been rediscovered and enhanced and which, in this PDO, represents 85% of the grapes. In the glass it expresses a ruby red color with violet hues, the scent is of berries, the velvety flavor is persistent and well balanced.
